Mr. Gordon Baltzer, Director
Mr. Baltzer is presently the Chief Executive Officer of the MEI Healthcare Group, LLC based in Coral Springs Florida. Formerly employed by Royce Laboratories and Apotex Inc., Mr. Baltzer specializes in the development, financing, building, and operation of outpatient diagnostic imaging centers. Mr. Baltzer has raised over $100 million in capital for the development of numerous healthcare related entities over the past five years. He also has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Baltzer has a bachelor of arts in Commercial Studies and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Mr. Chris Calenti, Director, General Manager
Mr. Calenti is an attorney and holds B.Comm, a JD and an MBA. His commercial background is in sales and marketing in active pharmaceutical ingredients and specialty pharmaceuticals. In addition to the general administration of the company, Mr. Calenti is presently responsible for business development and licensing opportunities.
Dr. Guy Ely MD, Director, Acting Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Ely is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Chemokine Therapeutics Corp., as well as serving on a number of advisory boards. Prior to joining Chemokine, Dr. Ely served as Vice President, Clinical and Medical Affairs at Biomira, Inc., where he supervised the global clinical development of the Company's lead cancer vaccines. As Vice President, Clinical and Medical Affairs at Lorus Therapeutics, Dr. Ely directed the global clinical development of anti-cancer drugs, including leading the Phase III planning of the lead immunotherapeutic compound for pancreatic cancer in Canada and the United States. While serving as Associate Medical Director at SmithKline Beecham Canada, Inc. (now, Glaxo Beecham), he directed all clinical research and development activities, including execution of approximately 50 international clinical trials in Canada. Prior senior posts also include Vice President, Clinical and Medical Affairs at Biochem Therapeutics, Inc., Director, Clinical Research at Abbott Laboratories Canada Inc., Medical Director at Asta Medica, France, Manager of Clinical Investigation and Medical Advisor for Ciba-Geigy Canada, Inc.
Mr. Mario Iseppi, Director
Mr. Iseppi has over forty years of pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry experience. He brings extensive management experience to Methapharm, having held several senior management positions with major multinational enterprises. Mr. Iseppi is presently responsible for International operations and global strategy.
Mr. Rahman Rousta, Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance
Mr. Rousta holds a B.Sc. in biochemistry as well as an MBA. Prior to joining Methapharm, Mr. Rousta had over fifteen years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage forms. He has overseen numerous regulatory approvals with the United States Food and Drug Administration, the Canadian Therapeutic Products Directorate, as well as a the regulatory authorities in number of other jurisdictions. Mr. Rousta has been instrumental in numerous projects involving the design, construction, validation, and operation of pilot and commercial production facilities.
Ms. Allison Sinclair, Operations and Manufacturing Manager
Ms. Sinclair holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, and brings business experience to the company from her position with a major data communications conglomerate as well as experience working in the commercial real estate and investment industries in British Columbia.
Ms. Suzanne Solman, Business Relations Manager
Ms. Solman holds a BA in Psychology, and a diploma in Gerontology. She has over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry the areas of Market Access, Pricing, Reimbursement, Special Access Programs, and submissions before the Canadian Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB). Ms. Solman’s portfolio includes GPO contract management and drug formulary listings.
